Katie and Landon – Joplin Wedding Photographer

Relationships, stories, sentimental things, and meaning… that’s the best way to describe Katie and Landon’s Joplin wedding. Every detail had a story. Every decision they made had a specific meaningful reason behind it. Not only did I love hearing the “why” behind all of their details as they planned their wedding, but I loved reading the signs around the displays at the reception hall and seeing them hug and laugh with so many friends and family members. Every detail had meaning, from Katie’s grandmother’s wedding dress to the reception dinner (which was catered by the two restaurants Katie and Landon worked at when Landon was trying to win Katie’s heart). But my favorite part of the day was the way Katie’s dad looked at her… his oldest daughter, as she got ready. First the makeup, then the hair and veil, then the dress. And by the time he got his dance with her at the reception everyone could tell he was soaking in every second. “I curled her hair for her every morning when she was in high school,” he told us as they got ready at his home. “Every day.”

But that’s what make weddings so wonderful, isn’t it? It’s the background stories. The love story. The family history. The memories and the sentimental dresses and jewelry and the meaningful places. I love weddings, and I love Joplin. It’s the history of this place and all of the memories so many people have of it.

So here’s a glance into Katie and Landon’s wedding day. Enjoy!
